     Christmas vacation is always a special time for me, not just because of the holidays but also because I get to serve in church as an altar server. It’s a lot of responsibility, but I feel honored to play a role in the celebrations.            Violence Against Women (VAW) is a widespread social issue affecting millions of women worldwide. In the Philippines, data from the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) highlights the gravity of this problem, with nearly 1 in 5 women experiencing emotional, physical, or sexual violence from their current or most recent partner. To combat this, the government has enacted various laws to protect women and children, including the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 (R.A. 9262). Each year, the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women reminds us of the importance of addressing this issue and ensuring that women live in a society free from violence and discrimination.             This quarter in our ICT class, I learned a lot about HTML tags and attributes, which are the foundation of building websites. Before this, I never fully understood how websites were created, but now I have a clearer idea of how web pages are structured and how they work behind the scenes.        One of the most important lessons I learned was how to use HTML tags to structure the content of a webpage. Tags like <p> are used for writing paragraphs, while <h1> to <h6> tags are for headings of different sizes. I also learned about the <a> tag, which is used to create links to other pages or websites, and the <img> tag, which displays images on a page.      Climate change is one of the biggest problems in the world today, and the Philippines is one of the countries that suffer the most from it. Every year, we experience stronger typhoons, flooding, and other disasters that destroy homes and affect the lives of many Filipinos. These problems are caused by deforestation, pollution, and the overuse of resources like coal and oil, which add to global warming.      The effects of climate change are very clear. Typhoons like Yolanda caused so much destruction, especially in places near the sea. Forests are being cut down, which leads to landslides and loss of wildlife. Cities are becoming overcrowded, and the air and water are polluted, making it harder for people to stay healthy.      Despite all these challenges, Filipinos always find ways to survive and recover.      The theme for this year’s National Children’s Month,  “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines,”  is a strong call to action. It reminds us that children should be protected from all kinds of harm, whether it happens at home, school, or online. Many Filipino children face abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and this needs to stop for them to have a brighter future.     Violence against children doesn’t just hurt them physically. It can also affect how they grow, think, and feel for the rest of their lives. To create a safe environment for kids, everyone must work together families, schools, communities, and even the government. We need better laws and stricter rules to stop abuse, but we also need to educate people about kindness, respect, and the value of children’s rights.     This theme also encourages us to focus on prevention.
