Dear President Marcos,


I'm writing to express a mix of emotions I have about your leadership. I adore this country, and I have no doubt that you do as well. But with love comes concerns. I'm concerned about the direction we're going in—it sometimes feels like average Filipinos' voices are being disregarded. I want to believe in your vision for the Philippines, but I
wish to see more empathy and action to address the daily challenges we encounter. Please listen to us and lead our country to a brighter future.

    Quirino, the sixth president of the Philippines, was a man of humble beginnings whose dedication to public service left a significant impact on the nation. Born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Quirino grew up in a modest family.      Every October, the Philippines celebrates National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month to honor the rich heritage, culture, and contributions of indigenous communities. This year’s theme,  “Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan, at Parangalan”  (Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge), resonates deeply as the nation also marks the 27th year of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997.
